    Urban Atlas

    From 2009 until 2011, SIRS has processed the Urban Atlas, a land cover for more than 300 of the largest cities in Europe.

    Since 2013, SIRS has been upadting the Urban Atlas and processing a land cover for other cities. In the end, 705 LUZ will benefit land cover.

    HR Layer

    Since 2012 SIRS, in partnership with GAF, has been processing 2 500 000 km², in order to extract imperviousness and forest. Both are references layers to GEOLAND 2 program.

    GIO Emergency Management Service

    When a natural disaster affects civilians, or in order to monitor the phenomenon, SIRS produces, in short time, maps for crisis. SIRS professional teams are on duty 24/24 & 7/7, on shifts with its partners.

  • UN-REDD Program

    The REDD Programme (Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Degradation) aims at limiting the greenhouse gases emissions related to deforestation and forest degradation, which account for 25% of the total world emissions. Within the REDD+ framework countries are invited to define and implement a national strategy that lies, among other aspects, on the definition of a national process to follow, notify and verify their national forest data. SIRS is working within the REDD+ framework.

    This programme focuses on the study of the microbiotic layers in desertification-prone areas in Sahel, and their behaviour when facing global climate changes and man-induced pressure.

    SLCS-Carbon Project

    In Malawi, in the Mulanje Park, this project aims at developing remote sensing-based tools for the control and the management of environmental services related to agro-forestry, with respect to carbon stock activities.

  • Télé-épidémiologie

    This project aims at localising areas which are sensitive to the risk of malaria, through the modelling of the ecological cycles of the vector mosquito. The project focuses on the potential blooming areas near Dakar, Senegal.
